St. Luke’s CFM Backyard Bible
Deuteronomy 6: 6 These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind, 7 and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up. 8 You should tie them as a reminder on your forearm and fasten them as symbols on your forehead. 9 Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and gates.
We really enjoyed teaching your children last summer about the work of the Holy Spirit.
This June St. Luke’s is taking boys and girls ages 4 to rising 5th Grade on a journey through The Exodus. Each day we’ll enter into the bible and discover God’s desire for his children. We will take time to sing and hear His Story… but we’ll also learn what it is to worship God and give Him thanks for all he has given us and how He has made us! We will do this by learning how to have a daily personal time of worship. Through the study of Scripture, music and a Psalm a day we will be guided to a deeper understanding of Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
Our activities will also teach us about worship and mission. We will make crafts that we’ll take home at the end of the week. During another activity time, we’ll learn how to cook making food to celebrate Passover at the family meal on Friday. There will also be time to play… something very important to God! Yes, God plays!
And, on Wednesday during this week of Backyard Bible, we’ll all head to the ocean and to the marine forest for a scavenger hunt to learn about the plagues of Egypt. The whole morning will be spent together exploring and learning… and rejoicing in God’s Mighty Acts!
