Children & Family Ministry

What a wonder and privilege it is for us to learn and grow together as the family of God! No matter what your age CFM is about learning to be and growing as the family of God equipped for Kingdom living. This happens in Sunday discipleship for specific age groups as well as special times for learning together as a whole family. There are also times for growing together during the week and in the summer. Explore the various links to find out more.

Infant & Toddler Worship

Sunday mornings give us a wonderful opportunity to show our littlest members the love of God. From 8:45 to Noon infants are rocked and sung to and given special attention so that they learn to know that St. Luke's Family is a safe place for them to grow in God's love. Toddlers receive a Sunday "Preschool" where they hear a Bible story, learn Scripture songs, and learn to respond through games and crafts centered on the story. And, of course... there is always time for a snack and play.

Wednesday Family Night

During the school year, Wednesday Family Night invites the entire Parish Family & Friends for a potluck supper beginning at 5:30pm followed by a teaching for adults at 6:20pm while children ages 4 through 5th Grade learn with Jean & Co. (Middle School Students attend Youth Group during this time). We close our evening together with Compline at 7:00pm. To check for potluck assignment contact the church office at 843-785-4099.

Sunday School

From 9:00 to 9:50 am, Sunday School provides time for specific age groups - from 2 years old to 5th Grade and even a Parents Class! -  to interact with Scripture in order to know what it means to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and might. Sunday School is about discipleship, about learning to follow Jesus and be His hands and feet and heart hear in our neighborhood. Our time together on Sunday morning encourages time for study, prayer, stewardship, and building relationships and equips parents to disciple their children throughout the week.

Godly Play Chapel

During our 10:00 am Sunday Worship, Godly Play Chapel offers a time of worship for children ages 4 through 2nd grade. It is a time of worship as they hear the sacred stories of Scripture or explore the meaning of Jesus' parables or learn about the lessons of our church year. It is a time of learning to listen and respond to God's word for them. Children are encouraged to "wonder" about Who God Is and who they are as His people as they respond in creative arts. Children leave from the worship service after the Collect of the Day and return at the Offertory.

Backyard Bible

Backyard Bible gives campers ages 4 through 5th grade the opportunity to build a personal faith in Jesus Christ through personal Bible study and prayer, the arts, and interactive activities. The week offers an opportunity to learn from mature Christians what it means to praise and pray, to sacrifice and serve, and to hide God's Word in our hearts.
