Mothers Offering Mutual Support (M.O.M.S) was rechristened MOMS-Plus at St. Luke’s. We focus on young mothers, usually with children under the age of 13. When children exceed that age, their moms “graduate” to Mothers Of Adolescents Needing Support (M.O.A.N.S.).

MOMS-Plus is a Bible-study based group for young mothers that has the goal of developing devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Through our group, older woman mentor young women according to the model in Titus 2:2. MOMS-Plus is a teaching and training ministry which includes support for parenting and marriage skills. We hope to train young moms to teach their children, love their husbands and be a part of the community by serving in God’s name. All our study material is Bible based. We often study books on marriage, parenting, or being a woman who is seeking God in her life.

Also, we are encouragers. We take food to new moms after a baby is born; we share the life experiences of mothering and being a spiritual friend; and we minister to the whole family with family outings and social events. We have taken two bus trips to Beth Moore conferences in the last two years after studying Beth Moore material.
