After breakfast we spent a bit over an hour on our devotions led by Logan and Bill. We hope you are doing the devotions with us. This morning's generated a lot of discussion.
We then headed off to the Diocesan House where we met new friends from Texas and celebrated as the well they drilled yesterday began providing water so that they now have water for the first time in 14 or so years! They are drilling more wells in villages around Dar. Exciting stuff!
We talked with the Archbishop about do's and don'ts during Ramadan in Kibindu. We also talked about the changes in the diocese here and all sorts of other things.....great morning.......well a bit more than just morning......we left close to 2.
We then met in Alice's office at the Primary School and had a tour of the school and new bathroom facilities (which the Church Mouse and St. Luke's helped to build). We sat and chatted with Alice about the growth and challenges of the school.
Then it was off to Shop Rite for a toothbrush, small water bottles and an SD card (due to a malfunctioning one)!
Due to jet lag we opted for an early dinner at Steers which is sort of like a food court. Bed will be early tonight.....so much to take in for our newbies who have been assaulted on all sides by sights, sounds and differences in culture. All in all a full day with just enough activity for jet lag weary travelers. Tomorrow the work begins with devotions at 6:30 AM.
We appreciate your prayers......
With His love,
The Tanzanian Team
This blog has been created to keep you up-to-date on all of the things God is doing through the team He has sent to Tanzania from St. Luke's Church, Hilton Head Island, SC. Sometimes it is difficult for the team to send information to us due to limited access to the Internet. Be assured that all of the latest news will be posted as soon as it is received.
