St. Luke’s Church is located on Pope Avenue near the beautiful Hilton Head Island beach. It is a church in the Anglican tradition. Its membership spans the spectrum from young to old with young working families who call Hilton Head their home and older folks who have retired from places all over the world and migrated to Hilton Head. We are bound together by our love for the Lord and our desire to serve Him.

Each Sunday we are blessed with visitors from around the world who are vacationing in Hilton Head. Many of them call us their “second home” church and enjoy not only worshiping with us but also taking advantage of the many fellowship times that are available during the week. If you see it on our schedule, you will be welcome to just walk in and introduce yourself! During your visit for Sunday worship be sure and meet our pastor, Rev. Greg Kronz in the main narthex and if you have time stop by for some coffee in the parish hall.

If you are already a Hilton Head Island resident, we hope you will consider making St. Luke’s your church. If you look at “Who We Are” you’ll find that we are a church that believes in Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior and believe in the authority of the Holy Scriptures. We worship in the Anglican tradition and try to make our worship services welcoming. We offer a wide variety of opportunities to “Get Involved” and we always have “Volunteer” opportunities where you can match your spiritual gifts to specific service needs. We are active in missions supporting a number of missionaries and offering several mission trips each year.

We hope you will come and visit us!

Sunny and Sophie from Beijing visited with us on August 12, 2012. They enjoyed the service and were greeted by Rev. Greg Kronz after the service.

Although my wife and I had vacation homes on Hilton Head for more than 28 years, my career was in academe and our permanent homes had been elsewhere.  An Episcopalian since 1959, I had visited St. Luke’s occasionally over the years, but had also worshipped at other churches (my wife of more than 50 years is a Roman Catholic).  Finally, in 2010 we retired to our Wexford home.  I expressed an interest in joining St. Luke’s and was greeted warmly by everyone I met.  Rector Greg Kronz met with me in his office, and I was impressed by his history, his obvious intellect, and the intensity of his faith.  I found his sermons to be well-researched, thoughtful, and challenging, and I quickly knew I had found the spiritual home that had been lacking in my life.

Serving my country as an active duty Marine for almost a decade, it kept me busy and moving from place to place.  In regards to a church, I never quite found a place that I could call “home” until last year at the age of 28.

Moving to Hilton Head in October 2011 and being raised Catholic and Episcopalian, I had several options of Churches to attend.  Immediately upon my arrival at St. Luke’s, I was greeted with a warm welcoming that felt like I was well known and back in my hometown.  With warm smiles at the door as I was welcomed and kind hearted conversation in the Parish Hall following the service, I had no need to go “Church shopping” anywhere else!  I have been attending regularly since my first time and enjoy the fact that I am continuously making new friends throughout the congregation on a weekly basis.  I personally encourage you to attend a service and I look forward to meeting you!

I have been a rather long time visitor to St Luke’s church.  I came looking for a church that taught the Word of God, a church that believed in sound biblical doctrine, and a church that did not bend to worldly views.  That was my earnest desire.  I have found that and much more  at St. Luke’s.  This is  a church that offers many opportunities to serve others and to learn from others. I have felt that I am welcomed here, encouraged to become involved, but that my choice of participation is up to me alone.  Each week that I attend services here I leave feeling spiritually energized and renewed.  I would tell anyone visiting or looking for a church home to come and sit, listen, sing, and reflect on what they see, hear, and feel.
