St. Luke’s Church is located on Pope Avenue near the beautiful Hilton Head Island beach. It is a church in the Anglican tradition. Its membership spans the spectrum from young to old with young working families who call Hilton Head their home and older folks who have retired from places all over the world and migrated to Hilton Head. We are bound together by our love for the Lord and our desire to serve Him.
Each Sunday we are blessed with visitors from around the world who are vacationing in Hilton Head. Many of them call us their “second home” church and enjoy not only worshiping with us but also taking advantage of the many fellowship times that are available during the week. If you see it on our schedule, you will be welcome to just walk in and introduce yourself! During your visit for Sunday worship be sure and meet our pastor, Rev. Greg Kronz in the main narthex and if you have time stop by for some coffee in the parish hall.
Nursery for infants and toddlers through 3 years is offered in the Parish Life wing. Children age 4 thru 2nd grade are invited to follow the cross after the Collect of the Day to Children’s Chapel, and return at the Offertory. Children’s bulletins and crayons are available at all entrances to the church.
If you are already a Hilton Head Island resident, we hope you will consider making St. Luke’s your church. If you look at “Who We Are” you’ll find that we are a church that believes in Jesus Christ as our Lord and our Savior and believe in the authority of the Holy Scriptures. We worship in the Anglican tradition and try to make our worship services welcoming. We offer a wide variety of opportunities to “Get Involved” and we always have “Volunteer” opportunities where you can match your spiritual gifts to specific service needs. We are active in missions supporting a number of missionaries and offering several mission trips each year.
We hope you will come and visit us!

Every Sunday as I gaze up at the cross, I am filled with gratitude that Rick and I have been brought to such a vibrant, loving community. Here I am home. Here we have been welcomed by spiritual mature, caring fellow believers; here we delight in the young families most of which sit in the section directly opposite us. As my eyes rise higher yet, I marvel at the majestic live oaks that surround our church and I thank God for bringing us to such a naturally beautiful place to live, grow and serve. During the services, I am impassioned and at times challenged by the sermons; and energized by the lively praise music and moved by the more traditional hymns - what a great music program we have !
It's hard to believe Rick and I have been attending St Luke’s for almost a year. During this time we have been planning and building a home on Hilton Head - our first home together. What an adventure it's been. St Luke’s has been a refuge. Here we are given the gift of staying focused on what’s most important in our lives. We turn to God for guidance, and for ways to surrender our lives to Him, and look for ministry opportunities that can apply and develop our spiritual gifts within the St. Luke’s community.
Louise and I have truly found a home here at St. Luke’s. We knew that building a home on Hilton Head we’d want to find a Church that was close by and grounded in Scripture. We have found that and more - an opportunity to meet and enjoy fellowship with other devout Christians, find ministries that can challenge us to grow in our faith while serving others, and as Louise points out, be challenged each Sunday with a message that speaks not only to Christ’s teaching but how it applies to us and the need to “step out in faith”.
We are not finished with our spiritual journey by a long shot! There is so much we have to learn and need to grow stronger in our faithfulness to trust God’s plan and purpose for our lives. Yet we believe that St. Luke’s will enable us to continue that journey with others who feel much the same way. We know we’re broken in many ways, but we “press forward toward the prize in Christ Jesus.” Thank you St. Luke’s for welcoming us into your community!
Serving my country as an active duty Marine for almost a decade, it kept me busy and moving from place to place. In regards to a church, I never quite found a place that I could call “home” until last year at the age of 28.
Moving to Hilton Head in October 2011 and being raised Catholic and Episcopalian, I had several options of churches to attend. Immediately upon my arrival at St. Luke’s, I was greeted with a warm welcoming that felt like I was well known and back in my hometown. With warm smiles at the door as I was welcomed and kind hearted conversation in the Parish Hall following the service, I had no need to go “church shopping” anywhere else! I have been attending regularly since my first time and enjoy the fact that I am continuously making new friends throughout the congregation on a weekly basis. I personally encourage you to attend a service and I look forward to meeting you!
God Speed and God Bless,
