Funding Goals
What it Will Require
Our Vestry has developed a vision to create a church campus that will not only provide for our current needs, but accommodate a more vibrant, growing church body that will embrace an enhanced outreach to the community at large. Our church is keenly aware of the importance of connecting with young adults as well as re-connecting many older residents and visitors in our community who only worship with us occasionally and/or on their vacations in Hilton Head. We announced this campus wide vision at the celebration of St. Luke's 50th anniversary in January of 2015. The total cost of all of the projects has been estimated to be $3.4 million. Achieving this vision will require members and friends of St. Luke’s Church to make a sacrificial commitment above and beyond regular tithes and offerings.
Our Status on May 15, 2017
Estimated total costs - $3.4 million
Pledged - $2.85 million
Received - $2.22 million
The final phases of construction are occurring financed by on our on hand receipts and a bank line of credit of $1.7 million. All the construction to date has been completed with the funds received.
Plans
There has been a good response to efforts to insure that any construction loan that is needed will have pledges that will enable it to be paid back by its due date in 2022. It would be wonderful if no loan is required. God has blessed us with an anonymous matching gift for all gifts given to the campaign in the Sunday Plate offerings between now and Labor Day. This gift will match up to $150,000. If this total is reached, the additional $300,000 given this year will be a huge help in minimizing our loan requirements!
