Interior Renovations

Interior Renovations

Picture
Improving the interior experience for St. Luke’s parishioners and our guests is one of the primary objectives of the proposed renovations which have been long delayed because of the court case.
Steps are being taken to enlarge and improve the church’s sadly outdated washrooms and toilet areas. This will provide more dignity and inspire positive impressions to guests. This renovation is especially important to our individuals with disabilities and older members as well as parents with young children.
There will be a more inviting interior entrance to the Sanctuary from the Sunday School wing plus easier access to the Parish Hall from the back parking lot with a new enclosed hallway where an exterior walkway now exists. This hallway will be known as the "Walk of Light" and will have displays honoring St. Luke's heritage and showcase "The Acolyte", an original oil painting donated to the church by Walter and Margret Greer. This walkway will over look out on the columbarium and provide access to a larger bookstore. The church library will be accessed from the education wing and will also be used as an additional adult education room.
