Lay Eucharistic Ministry

The Lay Eucharistic Ministry provides Holy Communion at home to parishioners who are unable to attend the weekly worship service at St. Luke’s, whether because of hospitalization or recuperation at home. The ministry assists the pastor of pastoral care.
Volunteers in the Lay Eucharistic Ministry also provide weekly worship services at the Fraser Center, Tidepointe (Broad Creek ), and twice monthly at Palmetto Court. Elderly people in these residential facilities are not able to travel to St. Luke's so we bring worship to them.

Seabrook Worship Service

Worship at the Seabrook residences is led every Sunday morning at 10:30. The primary purpose is to provide a worship experience for people who live there and are not able to leave the building for worship. We carry the consecrated bread and wine from the Lord’s Table at St. Luke's directly to them.
On special occasions, their worship service is held in the auditorium and the residents invite their family and friends to join with them in celebration.
The chapel at the Seabrook house was outfitted by Eleanor Leavitt, a longtime parishioner of St. Luke’s and a regular attendee of the Seabrook service.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is for those people that would benefit from the close care of a Christian. The Stephen Minister is compassionate, trustworthy, skilled, and full of faith. This ministry exists to bring pastoral care back to the roots of one Christian caring for another. Our goal is to mobilize the lay people of our church with the real ministry of caring for each other. A successful Stephen Ministry can engender true community with the dual focus of caring for members of St Luke’s as well as an outreach to the broader community.
Sunday Prayer Teams

“This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us -Whatever we ask- we know that we have what we asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15)
Each Sunday at the second worship service prayer teams are available for those who wish individual prayer in addition to those spoken within the liturgy of the worship setting.
Prayer team members are available specifically for that purpose; to pray for and with worshipers who have prayer requests for health concerns, healing, intercession for others, joy, thanksgiving, or whatever the Spirit has put in their hearts to be lifted to the Lord. Prayers are received in love and faith and remain strictly confidential.
