The Revd. Jacob A. Rogers
Associate for Discipleship & Families
Revd. Jacob and April were raised Baptist and became Anglicans in 2016. Fr. Jacob is from a family of eight children and grew up mostly in Memphis. He was homeschooled growing up and played competitive tennis in high school which allowed him to play college tennis at both Cedarville University and North Greenville University.
Since childhood, Father (Fr.) Jacob felt a deep affection for his churches and experienced a lifelong desire to pursue pastoral ministry, which led him to major in Pre-Seminary Bible and Christian Studies at both universities.
In 2011, Fr. Jacob married his wonderful wife April. They have two lovely daughters and one son at home, Zoe, Lydia, and Phineas. Their firstborn daughter, Jovie, went to be with the Lord in 2016 after a battle with brain cancer.
Fr. Jacob taught tennis for five years after college and then worked as a residential realtor for six years in the Upstate of SC until their family moved to frigid Nashotah, Wisconsin, where they spent three years as Jacob completed his Masters of Divinity in May, 2023.
During his time at Nashotah House, Fr, Jacob was a member of the ACNA Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy and was ordained to the diaconate (6/30/2022) and priesthood (5/17/2023) by the Rt. Rev. Derek Jones.
During seminary Jacob served as a hospital Chaplain at Greenville Memorial Hospital, completing Unit I of Clinical Pastoral Education, and he served the student body as a Sacristan (altar guild) and Student Body President. Fr. Jacob focused his studies especially in the areas of the Greek language, Liturgics, and St. Augustine.
Fr. Jacob still loves tennis and has found a new love in disc golf since seminary. He and the family enjoy going to the movies, fall weather, and they love Christmas. Jacob is also experienced in leading worship in several churches and loves all kinds of worship music, from Gregorian chant and Anglican plainsong to modern hymns and praise songs.
