♪♫ MUSIC TEAMS KICK-OFF NEW SEASON 2024 -2025 ♫♪
Children & Youth
Boys and girls explore the world of music with songs, instruments, games, and movement. Children also listen to Bible stories, learn scripture, develop worship skills, and sing in worship for holiday/special services and occasions. Each music team rehearses weekly September through mid-May.
CANTERBURY CHOIR (B&G, 4 - 6-years old) Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 4:15-4:55pm, starting Sep.4
ST. NICHOLAS CHOIR (B&Gls, Grades 2 - 5) Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00pm, starting Sep. 4
YOUTH BELLS (B&G, Grades 3 & above) Rehearsals: Mondays, 4:15-5:00pm, starting Sep. 9
SCHOOL BUS INFO On Wednesdays, beginning Sep. 4, your child’s school bus can stop at Saint Luke’s Preschool for our choirs. For more details: Janice Ring, Director, Saint Luke’s Preschool, 843-842-8650.
Adults & Youth
SAINT LUKE’S MUSIC TEAM (high school to adults) This Music Team leads the music weekly at the 10:30am Sunday service. It’s composed of singers and band members who enjoy using their gifts and talents to “minister through music.” Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6:15-8;00pm, Sep. until May; in Jun-Aug, every other week. Sundays, 9:30 - 10:15am before the 10:30am service.
RING & REJOICE HANDBELLS Music reading is required, but previous ringing experience is not. This music team rings in the 10:30 am Sunday worship service approx. every 6-8 weeks, and for other holiday & special services. Rehearsals: Mondays, 5:30-7:00pm, September through May
SAINT LUKE’S CHOIR (SATB) This choir presents three special musical offerings:
1) a large choral work on All Saints’ Sunday, Nov 3;
2) Carol arrangements at the Christmas Eve 8:00/8:30pm service, and,
3) a large choral work in early Eastertide. Choral works include soloists and instrumental ensemble accompaniment. Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 5:00-6:30pm, plus additional rehearsals.
Time Commitment: For all music teams, members are expected to be present at rehearsals and for scheduled worship service participation on Sundays and other designated times.
